Oisin Gourley is an employment solicitor with experience advising both employers and employees on a wide range of workplace issues. Originally from County Tyrone, he has represented claimants in discrimination cases before Employment Tribunals and has extensive experience providing employment law and HR advice to organisations across diverse sectors. Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Authority v Mr Mark Hunt
The claimant was a firefighter who was dismissed on 23 November 2018 after 25 years’ continuous service. The disciplinary investigation began after it was reported to his employer that he had uploaded a video of his former partner (“H”) to social media. The video referred to H’s job as a midwife and suggested that she was “out of her head on Class A”.
