What is the Legal Island Certificate in AI for HR?

4 weeks | 8 live hours | Recordings included | CPD-certified | Starts 21 January 2027

You may already be experimenting with ChatGPT, Claude or Copilot but aren't confident you're using them well and safely. You may be under pressure to introduce AI into HR without knowing where to begin. Or perhaps you're concerned about privacy, bias, employment law and the EU AI Act.

In four live, recorded sessions, learn to improve HR documentation and communications with AI, build a simple AI agent, audit workplace AI use, and manage bias, privacy and EU AI Act risks. Designed specifically for HR professionals and people leaders. No technical background required.

This course is designed to take you from experimentation and uncertainty to confident, practical and responsible AI use in HR and beyond.

Who is this course for?

The course is designed for those with little or no previous AI experience, as well as those with beginner or intermediate knowledge. Starting with the essential foundations in Session 1, you’ll quickly progress to more advanced and practical applications of AI in HR across the final sessions.

What will you be able to do after the course?

By the end of the course, you will be better equipped to use generative AI for practical HR tasks while applying appropriate legal, ethical and data safeguards.

You will be able to:

  • Work more efficiently – use AI for everyday HR tasks, including drafting, research and policy work
  • Control risk – identify privacy, bias, employment law and AI governance risks before they become problems
  • Lead implementation – audit how AI is being used in your organisation and develop a practical approach to adoption
  • Apply the learning – build a simple AI agent and apply the course to a real workplace challenge

Testimonials

Feedback that speaks volumes...

"I had zero practical experience with AI before we began. The course moved along at a comfortable pace, and yet by the time we were through, it felt like we had covered a vast amount in a short space of time. The anecdotes told by the speakers were some of the most valuable insights for me. Once I started using ChatGPT myself (safely, thanks to Legal Island), I began to find a use for it almost every day. As a result of my learnings, I'm now part of an AI committee with our IT team to draw up governance and roll out various AI tools at our organisation. I just love the possibilities this course has opened up."
Laura Crowe Executive Assistant to CEO & Head of Legal, Kefron
"I have gained so much from this course, and it is well thought through to cover all areas, with really knowledgeable speakers. Just to say thank you for delivering such an informative course, backed up with incredibly knowledgeable speakers and relevant topics for HR professionals. I feel better knowing that other organisations are at the same point in their journey as us – the starting line."
Michelle Law HR Manager, Wilson Country
"I wanted to do this course to gain insight into AI, and I got that in spades. I like the fact that I can now apply that into action. The content was very good, and the presenters were excellent. It's a great starting place to learn about AI, not just the positives but the cautionary aspect too."
Roisin Brennan Higher Executive Officer in HR, Department of Housing
"Embarking on our AI journey through the Legal Island training course in AI for Human Resources has been transformative. This course laid the foundation for us to understand and integrate AI into our HR practices. We are now starting to examine how we harness AI to streamline recruitment, enhance employee engagement, and make data-driven decisions. We believe it will not only improve our HR operational efficiency but also set us on a path to foster a more inclusive and dynamic workplace. This training is an essential first step for any HR professional looking to embrace the future of work!"
Caroline Heagney-Walsh Leprino Foods
"Probably one of the most important courses I’ve attended, with expert and engaging presenters each week."
Jennifer Flatley HedgeServ
"Fantastic overview of a new and exciting move for HR."
Mary Doyle Department of Finance
"This course hits right on the mark for any HR professional looking for some no-nonsense immersion into the world of AI. It hits the mark at just the right level for those at the beginning of their AI journey or already experimenting."
