About Julie Austin
As an employment law specialist, Julie advises employers and employees on all aspects of the employment relationship. With significant experience in all forms of employment disputes, including unfair / wrongful dismissal, applications to restrain dismissals, discrimination, redundancies (both individual and collective) and industrial relations, Julie provides pragmatic and commercial advice to her clients.
A large part of Julie’s work includes providing advice to HR functions on day-to-day matters including issues arising from stress in the workplace, bullying and harassment and carrying out disciplinary and grievance procedures. She also has extensive experience in the drafting and review of employment contracts, handbooks and HR policies and procedures.
Working closely with the firm’s Commercial Department, Julie also provides support in corporate acquisitions and disposals.
An experienced public speaker, Julie is a frequent speaker on employment law issues to clients. She also tutors on the Professional Practice Course in the Law Society of Ireland.
Julie also has experience advising professional regulatory bodies, including the Medical Council and the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland, in relation to the organisation and preparation of cases for hearing at Inquiry.
