About John Kelly
John is a Solicitor in the Belfast office where he is part of the Employment Law Team. He graduated from the University of Manchester with LLB Honours in 2010 and qualified as a Solicitor in Northern Ireland in 2013. Having previously worked as an Employment Solicitor in a leading UK-wide commercial firm in Belfast, John joined Worthingtons in 2016.
John has gained experience with regards contentious and non-contentious employment law matters. He has represented clients in tribunal proceedings both in Northern Ireland and GB, with claims ranging from basic unfair dismissal to more complex allegations of discrimination. Although primarily focusing on tribunal and contentious advisory work, John has also advised clients in the context of corporate transactions, including dealing with issues such as collective redundancy and TUPE. On a day-to-day basis, John enjoys the challenge of providing fluid advice in the context of live HR/employment situations such as the application of disciplinary, grievance and performance management processes and procedures.
