Employment Act (NI) - Zero Hours Provisions
Posted in : NI on 21 November 2016 Issues covered:A regulation was included in the Employment Act (NI) 2016, creating powers to address abuses of zero hours contracts and other non-guaranteed hours arrangements.
The Department for the Economy is currently carrying out informal stakeholder engagement to learn more about how zero hours, casual contracts and other contracts which don’t guarantee hours are used in NI and they are keen to speak with employers who make use of such contracts to inform future policy options.
