A mastermind group, working online, designed to help those responsible for D&I in their workplace implement key initiatives.

Facilitated by Barry Phillips BEM, Chair of the D&I Discussion Forum with guest contributor Stephen Frost, co-author of "Building an Inclusive Organisation" and head of D&I at the London Olympics 2012.

The purpose of the group is to:

  • support you in devising and implementing an effective D&I strategy for your organisation;
  • deliver peer support and accountability at every meeting concerning progress on D&I initiatives;
  • learn from individual and group study of a leading D&I textbook;
  • share D&I expertise and experience of implementing D&I initiatives -learn what works, what doesn’t;
  • benefit from direct access to an internationally recognised expert on D&I.

Who is the group for?

D&I officers or those in HR with a D&I function. Members of the group will be selected for the group according to D&I experience.

Where & when?

Dates for the next cohort are to be confirmed. The group runs online on Zoom between 1.30 and 3.30pm.

Thursday 23rd June – Review of learning from leading D&I textbook

Thursday 7th July – Devising and refining D&I strategy

Thursday 15th September – Exchange of D&I initiatives

Thursday 22nd September – D&I topic analysis as nominated by group members

Thursday 6th October – Q&A with Stephen Frost

    Barry Phillips Chairman

    Barry Phillips (CEO) BEM founded Legal Island in 1998. Since then, the company has become the leading workplace compliance training company on the island of Ireland. 

    Barry curated and chaired the first-ever AI for HR online event in September 2023. Since then, he has organised numerous webinars and workshops for HR on AI topics. He also presents a weekly podcast summarising important developments in AI for those in HR.

  • Stephen Frost
    Stephen Frost CEO & Founder

    Stephen is a globally recognised diversity, inclusion and leadership expert, and founded Included in 2012. He leads the team and works with leaders around the world to embed inclusive leadership in their decision-making.

    From 2007-2012 Stephen designed, led and implemented the inclusion programmes for the London Olympic and Paralympic Games as Head of Diversity and Inclusion for the London Organising Committee. From 2004-2007 Stephen established and led the workplace team at Stonewall. Stephen has also led D&I at KPMG and worked in advertising and consulting.

    Stephen was a Hertford College Scholar at Oxford and a Fulbright Scholar at Harvard. He remains a Visiting Fellow of the Women and Public Policy Program. He has won various awards from the 2010 Peter Robertson Award for Equality and Diversity Champions and 2011 Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum to one of Management Today’s Change Agents for his race and gender work.

    He has taught Inclusive Leadership at Harvard Business School, Singapore Management University and Sciences Po in France and advised the British Government, Royal Air Force and the White House. He is author of The Inclusion Imperative (2014), Inclusive Talent Management (2016) and Building an Inclusive Organization (February 2019).
