Protecting Yourself when Home Working in Northern Ireland

About this course

There are many benefits to working from home, including reduced travel time, more flexible working patterns, and higher levels of productivity. These benefits have brought remote working to the forefront of working life, with many employees in Northern Ireland now working from home on a permanent basis. However, home working can also present a number of health and safety risks and it's important for employees to know how to protect themselves from injury and ill health when working from home.

The Health and Safety at Work Order (NI) 1978, places certain legal duties on employers and employees to ensure a good standard of health and safety in the workplace. This includes when the employee is working from home.

What is the purpose of this course?

The purpose of this course is to provide all employees in your organisation with an overview of how to protect their physical and mental health whilst home working. Although the employer is primarily responsible for managing health and safety, all employees have a duty to take care of their own health and safety.
