About this course
The unprecedented situation that COVID-19 has created in Northern Ireland has meant more employees than ever have been asked to work from home. Many employees will never have experienced working outside of the office and these employees should know how to protect themselves from injury and ill health during this time.
The Health and Safety at Work Order (NI) 1978, places certain legal duties on employers and employees to ensure a good standard of health and safety in the workplace. This includes when the employee is working from home.
What is the purpose of this course?
The purpose of this course is to provide all employees in your organisation with an overview of how to protect their physical and mental health whilst home working. Although the employer is primarily responsible for managing health and safety, all employees have a duty to take care of their own health and safety. It is vital that employees understand their responsibilities under health and safety law.
Who needs this Protecting Yourself when Home Working training?
All employees have a duty to take care of their own health and safety. To work productively and effectively, it is vital employees feel safe. This applies when in the office or when working from home. Good health and safety practices are essential to prevent injuries and ill-health from ergonomic and psychological hazards which can result in:
