About John Gordon
John is a Pensions Actuary who has worked in pensions since 2001, joining the Punter Southall Group from HSBC in 2009. Over the last 13 years John has specialised in providing advice to trustees and companies in relation to their pension obligations and is involved in the full range of pensions advice.
This advice has included advising trustees and corporate entities on the ongoing management of defined benefit pension liabilities as well as the acquisition and disposal of defined benefit pension schemes. In addition, John has advised a number of organisations who have reviewed their pension arrangements including those who have moved from a defined benefit to defined contribution arrangement and has also helped companies to design and implement pension arrangements to ensure they meet their auto-enrolment requirements. John takes a proactive approach in advising and educating his clients on the specific implications to their schemes of developments and issues in the pensions and investment world, ensuring they are best placed to make the relevant decisions in relation to their pension schemes. John graduated from Heriot-Watt University with an honours degree in Actuarial Mathematics in 2001 and became a Fellow of the Faculty and Institute of Actuaries in 2007. John currently lives and works in Edinburgh and his current client base extends across Scotland and the North East of England.
