At the start of 2011, I talked about the broader context in which we are all operating, due to the ongoing, apparent downward spiral of the economic situation. This remained a theme throughout the year - and if anything 2011 is ending with the economic situation ever more worrying than in January. As HR Professionals, we have operated in this context and focused on managing our (restricted) budgets with an eye to ensuring return on investment and value for money.
