So, how do you induct an HR Manager, particularly when we are in a singleton role, with no other HR expert to advise and liaise with on important areas?

As the newly appointed HR Manager in BDO in Northern Ireland, I am still finding my feet and settling into the role. I wonder if everyone who changes jobs feels the same as me in terms of feeling pressure to perform well and to be adding value from day one? Sure, no pressure at all really!

I know a bit of this pressure comes from me but there is also pressure in knowing that people are watching you and making an assessment of you that will last long into the tenure of the role.
