Mary Montague has been involved in peace building work since 1975 firstly on a voluntary basis and then through a range of roles in Quaker Community Services, Corrymeela and Tides Training.  In 2001 Mary co-founded TIDES Training which is a charitable, not for profit, Training and Consultancy Organisation. Mary has an established background in community capacity development with particular interest in mediation and conflict management. . She has lectured and trained extensively internationally on the themes of conflict management, peace building and reconciliation through community building. She is a founding member of Women Waging Peace global network at the John F Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, and Boston, USA. As an experienced mentor, she advises groups in strategic development projects. She offers coaching to many individuals on a one to one basis to further develop their skills in community development, mediation and mediative interventions.
