Joan Peden is employed as a Co-Director in Human Resources, leading Workforce Modernisation, Equality and Improving Working Lives within the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust.

The Belfast Health and Social Care Trust is the largest employer in Northern Ireland with 20,000 staff. Prior to this Joan was employed as a Director of Corporate Development in the Mater Hospital with responsibility for a range of corporate functions including Human Resources, Equality and Support functions to the hospital.

In her current role Joan and her teams have responsibility working within the Trust on workforce modernisation programmes, working towards reducing health and social inequalities, promoting equality of opportunity and improving working lives programmes for staff.

Joan is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
