In the Spring of 2010 the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland released its guidance on the procedures for Section 75. The primary legislation remained intact but there is now a change in emphasis. The new guidelines place greater emphasis on outcomes rather than processes. This workshop will give you an insight into the guidelines issued by the Commission, comparing and contrasting the new duties against the old format and highlight the impact of the new changes on your organisation.

What are the learning outcomes?
You will gain an insight into the guidelines issued by the Equality Commission. The participants will be able to compare and contrast the current duties against the old format and to discuss the impact of the changes on your organisation. A ‘question and answer’ session will allow you to air all of your equality issues.
What will be covered?
- Section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act – We provide you with an overview of the latest Section 75 guidance produced by the Equality Commission
- Equality schemes and review – An easy to understand step-by-step guide through the new Equality Agenda and what it means for you
- Equality action plans – Consider the latest requirement to produce equality plans
- Audit of Inequalities – Look at the latest requirement to produce an ‘Audit of Inequalities'
- Monitoring– Explore the monitoring guidance and how to use it effectively
- Consultation methods – Top tips on effective equality consultation methods
- Equality and Corporate Planning Cycles – Address the need to place equality at the heart of the corporate cycle
