Why do this course?

Coaching is becoming more and more a core competency for managers. In the near future, managers will move from having a predominantly functional focus, to one in which their main aim will be to coach others to improve productivity. Organisations are also looking to develop their leaders and line managers with coaching skills and tools. They recognise this imminent shift in focus, which is reflected in the results of a 2009 CIPD survey which ranked coaching as the most highly rated development activity in UK organisations.

This course is for you if....

  • You are in a managerial role and you need to develop your staff.
  • You want to learn proven techniques for enhancing staff performance.
  • Your organisation is developing a coaching culture.
  • You want to develop your skills set.
  • You want a recognised qualification for coaching.

What you will learn

  • Competence in core coaching tools.
  • The ability to use coaching skills in your workplace.
  • The ability to develop a coaching model and unique coaching process.
  • An understanding of coaching and the coaching industry.
  • The ability to know exactly when a coaching approach is likely to be most effective and appropriate.
  • How to ensure that coaching is linked to your goals and to the goals or your organisation.

What are the benefits of this course?

  • You will receive a comprehensive pack of support materials.
  • A stimulating mix of input, skills practice and theory will embed learning.
  • Both facilitators are experienced coaches and managers themselves.
  • You will receive an Emotional Intelligence (E.I.) profile.
  • Full attention will be given to the practicalities of coaching in the workplace - where, when, with whom it is appropriate, issues of confidentiality, note-taking etc.
  • If you wish to further your development after the completion of this course, you can enroll for study on a Diploma Programme, accredited by the International Institute of Coaching.
