The Challenge:
Legal-Island created a new brain challenge to test its staff and to raise money for some fantastic local charities. All staff members within Legal-Island who wished to take part, were split into two teams - for a bit of healthy competition.
Until 5pm on Friday 11th June 2010, the two teams battled it out to see who could gain the most 'brain weight.'
Using 'The Big Brain Academy' on Nintendo Wii, each team member completed a brain challenge as many times as possible before the end date. The results of the brain challenge were then passed to the team leader, who recorded the results on our 'Mind Challenge Chart' - see below.
Each week the chart was updated to show the progress of the two teams and the success of the challenge.
Legal-Island donated £1 for every kg of brain weight gained in each team, to be split equally between the chosen charities.
In simple terms, the company gave money to charity in relation to how smart we are!

· 700,000 people in the UK are living with dementia.
· By 2010 there will be 1 million
· One in three people will die with dementia
NI Alzheimer’s society’s vision is of a radically improved world for people with dementia, a world where dementia can be defeated.

Brainwaves NI
Brainwaves NI is a charity dedicated to providing support and information to those people affected by a brain tumour. As a charity made up of members affected by a brain tumour, they understand the feelings of isolation, fear and confusion that being diagnosed, or living with a brain tumour can bring.
